This is Mitis, another OTTB (off the track Thoroughbred). There isn’t much of a story to go along with him. He was suffering from some neglect when he came to me, but the previous owner had recognized this and made it right. I think the moral of this story is that if you’re going to turn your horse out with a blanket on, pay attention! The mare’s Mitis was turned out with weren’t letting him eat and he had gotten pretty thin. It is fun to look at before and after shots though so here ya go!
Mitis is no longer with us. I found him a wonderful trail riding home where the ponies are very pampered. I knew she was a great home when she decided she wanted him and was in love with him, and didn’t change her mind after hours in the hot sun trying to get him in the trailer. Our horses are only as perfect as we’re willing to put the time into making them. If that makes sense! :-/
